Big Bucks Buy A Whole Lot Less Cruise Bang

Hello, Cruise Dreamers!
As the blog title says, this blog is dedicated to lamenting what should have been the twelve day cruise of a lifetime aboard the hardly Grand Princess from Barcelona, Spain to Venice, Italy from September 25 to October 7, 2006. We see our lament as a public service announcement, actually, and suggest that you thoroughly investigate other lines before you book a Princess cruise.
We'll gladly tell you why and offer important TIPS along the way . . .
The photo at right shows the hardly Grand Princess docked in Barcelona, Spain. The orientation is from the bow towards the midship gangway and stern waaaaay back there. As you see the ship is miles long--well, we remember hearing someone say it was 954 feet long or more than combined length of three football fields.
TIP:
Choose a smaller ship unless you love tiny cabins, full elevators, packed theaters and lounges, presses of 2000+-hungry or bored people who don't like the food either. You will also expect to see all these fine folks on every shore excursion by the buses load following the hundreds of buses of cruisers from the five or more other ships that are visiting whatever port on any given day.
WARNING: If you're on a smaller ship but travel during the season, you will still have to deal with hoards of people from the megaships like the hardly Grand Princess, for they all follow the same itinerary. UGH!
I'll sign off for now and let POSH2 have her go, then on with the lament beginning with Embarcation Barcelona.
Grandly lamenting, POSH1
